Kobori gave a lecture at the Swiss Embassy.
We had the opportunity to give a lecture at the Embassy of Switzerland.
Based on our study trip to Switzerland last year, where Kobori and the staff traveled together, Kobori spoke about what we saw and felt.

In the lecture, Kobori spoke about Switzerlandʼs geography including the relationship between nature and architecture, its multilingual culture, local governance, and approaches to education, while also touching on differences with Japan.
A theme we explored during the trip “craftsmanship and the design that emerges from it” is something nurtured within these cultural and environmental contexts.
We also shared our experiences, including the techniques of Creation Baumann, the architecture we saw across the country, time spent together as a teammeals and moments in nature and insights gained through conversations with architect Gion A. Caminada, as well as guided visits to his buildings.
Recently, we have been thinking about how the architecture we create at Tetsuo Kobori Architects is something that involves not only designers, but also those who build and use it an idea of “architecture created together.”
It was a pleasure to be able to share this perspective, which became even more tangible through the study trip, with the Ambassador of Switzerland, the staff at the Embassy, and everyone who attended the lecture.
